LOCAL GASTRONOMY
We serve vegetarian and vegan options as well as traditional local dishes in our restaurant. It has a traditional indigenous design with no walls, which creates a unique and cool environment for you to enjoy the outdoors.
We offer traditional Ecuadorian food, international dishes, and a variety of local specialties such as worms, ants or the famous chonta fruit (all seasonal)
Enjoy our bar`s cozy atmosphere and friendly staff with a local cocktail or a glass of wine of your choice.
ACCOMMODATION AT THE LODGE
We have 20 bungalows in the lodge. All rooms are equipped with modern facilities such as private bathrooms with hot water and electricity 24/7. Our ecologically conscious bungalows are built in native Kichwa-style and constructed by members of indigenous communities from the region. All rooms have a similar standard, they only vary in minor differences that are explained below.
OUR CONSERVATION PROJECT
Huasquila is the embodiment of years of collaboration between indigenous communities, international volunteers and the lodge’s owners, who worked together to restore and protect the 166 hectares of private reserve. Our long-term plan includes reforesting the area connecting Cotundo to the Antisana nature reserve. We seek to become the benchmark management model in the regeneration and conservation of ecosystems based on inclusive and accessible ecotourism.
