The area of Napo, Archidona where our lodge is located, offers several attractions to find pleasure in the Amazon to the fullest. You can enjoy an action-packed day of rafting and kayaking, spend time with local indigenous communities learning about their culture and way of life or simply navigate through the Napo River observing nature.

We will visit the Jumandy caves, the most famous and beautiful in the area, named after the great warrior Jumandy, a man who resisted the Spanish conquistadors when they were exploring eastern Ecuador. Here we will enjoy landscapes full of mysticism, carrying out different activities within the tourist complex where you can observe the fascinating world of stalagmites and stalactites safely accompanied by certified nature guides.

The Sacred Valley of Cotundo has a high concentration of Petroglyphs, an ancient practice of stone carving, whose purpose and age are still unknown. As one explores the trails accompanied by an experienced guide, the remarkable engravings on each stone are explained and admired.

Description:

A 15-minute drive from Huasquila will take you on a fascinating journey through a jungle path that leads to impressive waterfalls, such as “Pinpilala” and “Cara del Diablo”, which finally lead to the majestic canyon known as “Secret Lake”. . The hidden oasis is surrounded by rocks, waterfalls, trees, birds and caves, where you can take an exhilarating jump from the cave into the waterfall’s natural pool, allowing you to immerse yourself in its revitalizing waters.

Description:

After a 45-minute ride, we’ll start with a laid-back canoe ride and take a short walk through the jungle to the giant ceibo tree. Then, you will go tubing down the river being able to see animals such as monkeys and birds on the banks. We will pause for a box lunch, and then go on to the alligator lagoon. Finally, the tour culminates with a visit to the Amazon animal rescue center, where you will be able to witness the impressive wildlife in its natural habitat.
