What makes Huasquila a distinctive place?

We offer a unique experience with specialized services for small groups in a safe and comfortable way. In addition, we are close to the city of Quito, which allows you to enjoy much time in the lodge and little on the road. Finally, we are the only lodge accessible to the jungle and with an adequate infrastructure to receive adults with special requirements (reduced mobility, wheelchair).

Is everything included in the prices?

Yes, everything is included. There are no extra charges for transportation or entrance fees. The only thing you have to pay for at the lodge are alcoholic beverages and souvenirs you buy (t-shirts, hats, etc ...)

What is the weather like in Huasquila?

During the day it is hot with sun and a little humidity (not as intense as in other areas like Coca and Lago Agrio). The nights are refreshing. It no longer rains as much as in the past, but we should expect a little rain during the day.

What does the word "Huasquila" mean?

The name Huasquila comes from the name of a type of tree found in the extensions of the lodge. It is characterized by having a large number of vines or lianas "Huasca" that grow around the tree "Ila", and finally take over it. Legend has it that in its great roots live elves and boas that steal from children. For this reason, the Kichwa have cut down several of these trees.

Do I need to take medication against malaria?

In Huasquila we are located where the mountains end and the Amazon begins, 800 meters above sea level, and for some reason we have almost no mosquitoes in the place. We do not suggest taking malaria medication if you come to Huasquila Lodge
