Description

The lush rainforest of the Ecuadorian Amazon is full of natural beauty; from the waterfalls and lagoons that descend from the Andes Mountains to rivers and freshwater springs. The area surrounding the Ecuadorian Jungle Lodge has many caves and rock formations that are home to beautiful waterfalls. Huasquila Amazon Lodge is lucky to have two of these waterfalls, which measure more than 15 meters, as well as 10 smaller springs.

Visitors can walk along the marked trail in the direction of the waterfall known as “Las Golondrinas” and take a rejuvenating bath in its refreshing waters. Throughout the trip, visitors will witness a wide variety of wildlife and vegetation, a serene lagoon, and the majestic.

Learn about the life of Amazonian indigenous peoples such as the Kichwa 9 de Junio community, one of the most distinguished ethnic groups of Napo. Discover how they make their products, make the renowned chicha with cassava and prepare the beloved Guayusa tea. You can even choose to visit a shaman and experience the cleansing power of their traditional plants and rituals.

Witness the children in their colorful costumes and songs and take part in their folk dances. Browse its market stalls and shop for handmade crafts. Join in traditional games like the blowgun and experience genuine Kichwa culture.

Come explore the jungles of our lodge at night and experience the wonder of its inhabitants! Accompanied by experienced local guides, you will be led through the garden paths of our lodge, witnessing the beauty of nature as you encounter toads, grasshoppers, other various insects, and if you’re lucky, even bio-illuminated mushrooms or other wildlife! Of course, the magical sounds of the nocturnal creatures living in the jungle will surely complete your exploration of nature.

On our journey through the jungle, we will find a 6-hectare farm that exhibits an agroforestry system. Here you can observe and learn about the various benefits of plants such as guayusa, lemon verbena, verbena, turmeric, cocoa and dragon’s blood. At the conclusion of our trip, we will find ourselves in the factory of organic products created from plants and exported all over the world.
